Howard Rheingold posted a series of documents he uses with his students on the creation of electronic communities. I will add these to the wiki later (Vinnie Vrotny)

Francis Parker: short instruction each time youngest students come to lab; use Type2Learn 1st-5th;

Electronic Student Permanent Records: With most records are now generated/received electronically, LFCDS is investigating transitioning our student records to electronic format. Anyone else done this? Do you have policies & procedures to share? Legal issues? Data rot? [LFCDS]
SmartBoard Training: Does anyone have a recommendation for summer training that is curriculum specific for a given discipline? (Brookfield Academy)
Notes from Vinnie:
NAIS' 21st Century Curriculum & Technology Task Force has put together a document titled "Online Learning: A Continuum of Opportunity - Critical Questions for School Leaders." Demetri Orlando has asked for review and for feedback on this document. This is one of the next steps byond the 1-1 conversation which was held this morning. You can catch a podcast of a conversation that I, Alex Ragone, and arvind grover are having with Demetri on our 21st Century Learning page.
Additionally, I had the opportunity to attend the TEDxNYEd conference in March. It was phenomenal with 14 live speakers, all which were out of this world. This is from Dave Bill, the curator of the conference and Technology Director at the Dwight School in New York, the videos from all of the speakers can be found at the TEDx YouTube page or at the TEDxNYEd website. I have some ideas about hosting a similar experience here in Chicago, either for adults (teachers, administrators, and others) and/or students. Contact me if you are interested.
